This blog provides information on how U.N. Global Compact participants' walk the talk. The GC is a voluntary initiative at the strategic level to engage businesses towards sustainability principles. There is however a risk of 'blue-washing' by covering up corporate misbehaviour and law infringement from large MNEs through poorly enforced 'Integrity Measures' and weak U.N supervision. Holcim Cement Tainted in Switzerland by Work Rights Abuses in India
The ICEM-affiliated Pragatisheel Cement Shramik Sangh (PCSS) conducted a two-week tour of activities in Switzerland that concluded, educating trade union colleagues on the grave violations of work rights abuses by Holcim Cement of contract workers in India’s Chhattisgarh region.

Holcim Ltd. (HOLN:SIX) is a Global Compact participant since 2003/03/06. It was a 'Silver' Contributor to the Foundation for the Global Compact in 2011 and 2010.
