This blog provides information on how U.N. Global Compact participants' walk the talk. The GC is a voluntary initiative at the strategic level to engage businesses towards sustainability principles. There is however a risk of 'blue-washing' by covering up corporate misbehaviour and law infringement from large MNEs through poorly enforced 'Integrity Measures' and weak U.N supervision. Colville Tribes Head to Court Against Teck Resources on September 10
The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation will get their day in court on September 10 against Teck Resources, a Canadian smelter that over the course of a century dumped slag into the Columbia River from its lead-and-zinc operations up in British Columbia.

Teck Resources (TCK) is a Global Compact participant since 2007/04/17. Teck Resources was a LEAD Contributor (USD $65,000 and up) Gold Contributor to the Foundation for the Global Compact in 2012, 2010.
