There is however a risk of 'blue-washing' by covering up corporate misbehaviour and law infringement from large MNEs through poorly enforced 'Integrity Measures' and weak U.N supervision. Ikea Products Made From 600-Year-Old Trees
The home furnishing giant Ikea, founded in Sweden in 1943, is facing heavy criticism for the logging and clear-cutting of old-growth forests in the north of Russian Karelia by its wholly owned subsidiary Swedwood.

The IKEA Group is a Global Compact participant since 2004/12/27. IKEA was a Gold contributor to the Foundation for the Global Compact in 2010 and 2009.
